Open Evening for Fr Barnett

On Friday 19th March, there was an Open Evening for Fr Barnett, where parishioners dropped in to give their good wishes for his retirement.

Many parishioners came along and everyone had time to sit with Fr Barnett, to talk over past times and their memories of Fr Barnett’s time at St Mary’s.   It was an enjoyable evening and John Dolan thanked Father for his 19 years as Parish Priest and for all he had done for St Mary’s during those years.

John presented Father with a gift and a card signed by parishioners. There had been a collection for Fr Barnett which raised £1,290 and he was presented with that.  Fr. Barnett thanked everyone for their kind gift and spoke of his happy times at St Mary’s in Nairn.

It was a great evening and people enjoyed themselves, chatting and drinking tea, coffee and wine and as usual there were lots of lovely cakes, biscuits and chocolate to eat.
