A Day of Reflection took place at the Church of The Immaculate Conception, Stratherrick on Sunday 26 July to celebrate the 8th Anniversary of the opening of the Grotto.
The day started at 11am with the Joyful Mysteries, followed by the Glorious Mysteries of the Rosary. This was followed by the Angelus. After an uplifting Mass at 12.30pm, the congregation made their way up to the Grotto reciting the Luminous Mysteries en-route. At the Grotto the Litany of Our Lady was recited followed by prayers. Despite overcast conditions the day remained dry, if a tad cold.
From the Grotto people made their way back to the hall for delicious home-made soup and a generous selection of sandwiches, with biscuits and home-made scones courtesy of Therese, followed by a tasty summer pudding (a timely reminder that it is summer!) and chocolate cake both made by Patricia.
At 3.15pm, the congregation returned to the church for Exposition and Divine Mercy. Favourite hymns were sung throughout the day, all unaccompanied and we even sang as we climbed the up the hill to the grotto.
A peaceful and grace filled day, much appreciated by all, with many blessings for everyone who was there
