Vatican Letter and Information regarding the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine

Our Holy Father Pope Francis has asked for a Special Collection to be taken this Sunday, throughout the church in Europe, for humanitarian aid in Ukraine.  The proceeds of this collection “will be joined to a substantial offering to be made by His Holiness as a sign of his own participation in this collection” and “will be used for the benefit of those living in conflict zones and those displaced within the country”.  These funds will be managed by the Holy See to meet the most urgent humanitarian emergencies.

The Vatican Secretary of State, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, has written a letter in which he explains the necessity for this initiative, with an accompanying information sheet, to raise awareness of this humanitarian crisis.
